Dear Fellow UMMA Members and Prospects,
It’s our pleasure to invite you to renew your membership in the University
Mail Managers Association. If you are not a member, we encourage your
consideration to join this regional association to enhance your knowledge
and resources in the area of mailing services. Our strategy is provided
below.
The mission of UMMA is to provide a professional association for college
and university mail managers and staff to enhance their knowledge and
managerial abilities, and to improve mail and related services at their
respective institutions. The primary objectives are:
- Facilitate cooperation and communication among its members
through the exchange of knowledge, experience, and technology in
the field of Mail Services at higher educational institutions.
- Promote the education of its members through membership
meetings, conferences, and other forms as deemed appropriate.
- Provide assistance to new managers.
- Promote the development and use of ethical and effective
managerial techniques, while advancing the profession capabilities
of its members in Mail Services management.
- Provide a forum for the discussion of operating procedures and
relationships with the United States Postal Service and other Mail
Services vendors.
Our means of providing educational resources is by offering an annual
conference each year specifically designed for college and university
mailing staff. Next year’s conference is hosted by Mark Pfenning of
Concordia University in Wisconsin.
Your membership dues will also provide the following benefits:
- Registration discount for UMMA regional annual conference.
- Discount for annual NACUMS dues which includes access to
NACUMS website. NACUMS website contains valuable resources,
benchmarking tools, member contact information MTAC reports,
samples of mailing guides and websites, and other important links.

- Registration discount for annual NACUMS conference.
The 2008-2009 membership dues are $35 per member or $60 for two or
more members from the same university or college.
